First post 2008
Well as some of you allready know we have moved , This was brought about by the owner of that place wanting large rent for a property that floods , has limited access, and requires constant maintance and repair. We have had a good time in the 4 years that we lived there and were somewhat upset at the time , however after moving into a shed up the road we have a great feeling of releaf and optamissim...
Ok some back info...
Thursday 11th October, at around 18:30 Jo was bitten by a brown snake on the grass just by the downstairs area, after about 10 mins she decided that it would be a good idea to ring an ambulance as she was starting to be short of breath . In the mean time I had caught the snake and put it in a pillow slip to take with us for ID.. We met the ambos at the ferry and they took Jo into town , I followed in our ute, Jo was monited and a snake bite detection kit was used to confirm that she had venom in her system , There were 3 destinkt sets of bite marks... At this point nobody could confirm the snake type and the detection kit was inconclusive so she was transferd to Cairns Base Hospital by road , if the bite kit had a definate snake type conclusion she would of got a free helicoppter ride. At no point did she get much worse than a bit tight in the chest and a sickly feeling (luckly) They monited her over night and I went down the next day , They relessed Jo at 13:00 on Friday...
Tuesday 16th Oct, Jack the owner of the river block truned up and gave me the rent or move option with a 30 day deadline to be out... over the next 2 weeks we searched around localy and not so localy and could not find anything suitable to us , the dog is an issue with rentel propertys . We also wanted to stay in this area so as Shani could stay on the same school bus run and at the same school.
Back too the move..
After looking and rejecting this shed we went back for a seconed look and decided that it would have to do.

Over the next week or so we started to clean up and work out how we could live in this shed ..

All the junk out and the floor painted with a sealer..

Then undercoated the walls...
